An outsourced role in your team

A small or mid-sized company often needs not an agency for a campaign but a person to run its marketing. Employing an experienced brand manager is expensive, and in a company with one marketer every holiday stops the operation. An outsourced role solves that: you get an accountable person, with a team behind them, without paying for the whole team.

01

  • Oversight of message consistency across every channel

  • Client leadership and coordination of the whole team in one place
  • Managing projects, deadlines and budgets
  • Regular communication, meetings and follow-ups
02

One accountable person, not a divided agenda

The most common place marketing breaks is neither the idea nor the budget — it is the handover between suppliers. The designer waits for copy, production for the script, the campaign manager for finished assets, and when the deadline slips everyone points at the next one along.

An outsourced role closes that gap by giving accountability a name. The client deals with one person regardless of how many people are working on it, and does not have to check whether they passed materials between themselves.

03

Representation with suppliers saves money and nerves

Dealing with media owners, printers and retail chains is a discipline built on experience. Someone who knows what is standard in a quote and what is a surcharge for inexperience gets a different price from someone buying for the first time.

So the role includes negotiating on the client’s behalf — including where the supplier is not ours. We take no commission on it, so we have no reason to recommend the more expensive one.

04

Where it does not make sense

For a company that has its own marketing department and only needs campaign capacity, an outsourced role merely adds a layer. There it is better to buy specific services and keep the management in-house.

It equally makes no sense where marketing is decided in the owners’ meeting and an outside person would have no mandate to decide anything. Without authority it is just more expensive coordination.

Frequently asked

How much time does an outsourced brand manager give us?
It is agreed in advance — usually as a fixed number of days per month, not as unlimited availability. The client knows what they are paying for and we know how much capacity to reserve. Anything beyond that is handled separately, not by quietly pushing another client back.
What happens when the engagement ends?
We hand over documentation, access, processes and plans in progress. Part of the role is writing things down so somebody else can follow them — not least because one possible outcome is that the client eventually hires their own person. That is a legitimate ending, not a defeat.
